Pool House Farm reopens following winter shut down
Staffordshire’s Pool House Farm fishery at Middleton near Tamworth reopens for fishing on March 1 following its traditional winter shut down.
Good sized carp, tench and rod bending perch
Developed on the site of a 300-year-old former clay pit, this delightful one acre pool can cater for some 22 anglers on well-spaced pegs and offers fishing for common and mirror carp to a good 26lbs with plenty of mid-sized doubles regularly taken. There are also some good tench to a rod-bending 7lbs and, perhaps most impressive of all, an estimated 100 or more hard-fighting but difficult to catch perch which now top the 4lb mark.
Because it is only a small venue it closes every winter from November to March to give the fish a rest from anglers and to allow maintenance and improvement work to be carried out while the pool is quiet.
