Dr Bruno Broughton
Dr Bruno Broughton is an independent and highly experienced fisheries management consultant who operates throughout the UK and in parts of western Europe
A highly experienced fishery consultant
A Fellow of the Institute of Fisheries Management and a Chartered Environmentalist, Dr Broughton wrote and delivered fisheries studies courses for a decade at Rodbaston College at BTEC First, National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels.
Through his advisory work spanning 34 years, he has undertaken assignments for more than 2,200 clients, most of which originate from personal recommendation. They range from individual fishery owners, farmers, estates managers, angling clubs and syndicates of all sizes to commercial fisheries, planners and architects. He also advises solicitors and financial institutions, local authorities, Government departments, multi-national companies and voluntary organisations.
“Over the past 34 years I’ve worked with individual fishery owners, farmers, estates managers, angling clubs, commercial fisheries, planners and architects to help them achieve their objectives”
Expert advice for fishery owners
In addition to the provision of ‘fire-fighting’ advice on the resolution of a vast range of fisheries-related problems, Dr Broughton had prepared several hundred ‘blueprint’ reports on the design, construction and development of new still water fisheries and coarse fish farms, many of which are now highly successful businesses.
In recent years he has also specialised in: valuing fisheries prior to purchase, sale or lease; helping to secure planning consent for managers’ dwelling at fisheries; and acting as an expert witness in pollution-related litigation and at planning appeals.
