Bury Hill launches Tsunami Appeal

Surrey's Bury Hill Fisheries is to hold a Predator Open Match on Saturday, February 12 when all proceeds will be donated to the Asian Tsunami appeal.

Fishing from both bank and boat, the draw will take place at 8.00am with fishing 9.30am to 3.30pm. The cost, including prize fund, will be 25 per bank angler and 30 per boat angler, of which 15 per bank angler and 20 per boat angler will be donated to the Tsanami Appeal.

Boat bookings must be for two anglers per boat. The remaining 10 per angler will be fully paid out in tackle prizes, which amount to about 2,000. The prizes for the day will be:

Largest Pike: Fox Predator tackle worth 150;
Largest Zander: Fox Predator Tackle worth 150
Bank First Prize: Fox Predator Tackle worth 300
Bank Second Prize: Fox Predator Tackle worth 200
Bank Third Prize: Fox Predator Tackle worth 100
Boats First Prize: Fox Predator Tackle worth 300
Boats Second Prize: Fox Predator Tackle worth 200
Boats Third Prize: Fox Predator Tackle worth 100
Four Section Prizes: First place in each section - Fox Predator Tackle worth 50; Second place in each secxtion - Fox Predator Tackle worth 25;

In addition, the fishery will also be running a Mega Raffle of fishing tackle and sponsored days, donated by the tackle trade and celebrity anglers such as Andy Little, who has donated a day's fishing. The raffle will be drawn by Bill and Virginia Rushmer following the match. First prize will be 1,000 of Fox tackle whilst second prize will be a day's fishing with Andy Little. In addition, there will be lots of other tackle and bait prizes to be won including state of the arc rods and reels etc.

Fishery owner David de Vere said: "It is hoped that the day will raise 5,000. To ensure that as many people as possible take part on what is sure to be a fun but worthy day, we will also be providing free tuition and tackle loan for those who have not predator fished before, but who wish to take part.
