Jennifer's Pool

Jennifer’s Pool sits tucked away in a tranquil corner of the holiday park, surrounded by native woodland and grassy meadows. Covering 1.1 acres, this established coarse pool features 12 designated, spacious pegs with well maintained grass banks. The pool offers a clean, easy to read underwater profile, with margins at around 1.5ft gradually increasing to the centre depth of 6ft.

Target species

The water holds a healthy head of mirror carp and common carp from 3lb to 10lb all in fighting fit condition. If fishing with smaller baits such as maggots or casters, you’ll also come across the occasional roach and silver fish. It’s a good all round venue and is a great place to get your kids into fishing and get them excited to see the float going under.

Techniques that work well

Most techniques work well on Jennifer’s pool. If you prefer watching a float dip, a light waggler or pole setup fished close to the margin shelves yields consistent sport throughout the day. Plumb your depth carefully so your bait rests just touching the bottom right at the base of the marginal slope. While the pool fishes consistently across every swim, regular local anglers often prefer Pegs 1 to 4 near the shallower entrance end, as fish frequently congregate in the shallows during early morning hours.

Feeder fishing also works very well. A small inline method feeder with 12 inch hook length, fished about 4 rod lengths out is all that is needed. Takes can be aggressive with some of the carp reaching 10lb – so make sure you watch your tip all the time!

Baits and stealthy feeding strategies

The resident carp in Jennifer’s Pool react very positively to steady feeding, preferring a slow but plentiful supply of bait introduced consistently throughout your session. Rather than dumping heavy carpets of bait upon arrival, trickling in small, regular helpings keeps the bites coming throughout the day.

A coarse groundbait mix with 2mm pellets, a few casters, red maggots and even hemp creates a deadly combination that should help keep you catching.

For hookbait, luncheon meat, prawns, soft hookable pellets (red), casters, maggots and sweetcorn remain top choices.

River Arrow

Bordering the outer edge of the holiday park, the River Arrow offers staying guests private river access right on their doorstep. For anglers who enjoy a bit of variation this beautiful stretch offers shallow gravel riffles, deeper gliding channels, undercut clay banks, and shaded pools overhung by mature willows. Don’t be surprised if you are sharing your peg with a Kingfisher!

Depths vary from shallow 2-foot runs to deeper bend holes exceeding 5 feet, providing fantastic variety for roving river anglers.

Wild species and stream tactics

The River Arrow holds native wild brown trout, grayling, chub, roach, dace, and eels. Game anglers can cast dry flies such as Mayflies or Klinkhamers along the gravel glides during summer hatches, or drift weighted tungsten-beaded nymphs through cool current seams during spring and autumn sessions.

Coarse anglers can employ traditional stick-float trotting tactics. Running a lightweight stick float down steady glides with a trickle of fresh maggots, casters, regularly draws aggressive bites from the River Arrow Chub, Grayling and Trout. Freelining or dropping a light ledger setup loaded with cheese, or a big cube of meat, into deep undercut bank holes during twilight hours will entice the larger chub hiding out in the shadows.

Holiday static lodges

Arrow Bank provides a selection of luxury 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom static holiday lodges engineered specifically for relaxing self-catering breaks. These spacious lodges accommodate small families. Featuring open-plan living areas, fully equipped kitchens with modern appliances, central heating, double glazing, crisp bed linens, towels, and high-speed Wi-Fi access. Outside, every lodge boasts a private timber decking area fitted with outdoor furniture for relaxing evenings after a day on the bank.

Situated within a short 100 to 300-metre walk from Jennifer’s Pool and the river bank, anglers can stroll to their chosen peg with total ease. The park permits vehicle drop-off options near the poolside so you can unload heavy tackle boxes and rod bags before returning your car to designated parking areas. Nominated pet-friendly lodges are available for guests bringing dogs, while booking restrictions include minimum 3-to-4-night stay requirements over peak bank holiday dates and Christmas.

Touring and camping pitches

Touring caravan, motorhome, and tent enthusiasts are fully catered for with 50 dedicated pitches set within landscaped parkland surroundings. Touring choices include fully serviced hardstanding Premier Pitches equipped with 16A electric hook-ups, fresh drinking water connections, digital TV points, and grey water drainage bollards, alongside spacious grass plots for traditional setups.

Touring guests receive full access to the park’s 5-star heated toilet and shower block, laundry facilities, dishwashing areas, and the secure off-lead dog exercise paddock. Located just 100 to 300 metres from the water, these pitches provide a convenient, accessible home base for touring anglers. Fishing is available to touring guests for a small day pass fee of just £5 per day.
