Take a break at Countryside Cabins

Countryside Cabins is set in a 650-acre rural Herefordshire working farm in the remote but easily accessible hamlet of Moreton Jeffries between the villages of Stoke Lacy and Ocle Pychard. Despite its rural location it is within easy driving distance of the county city of Hereford with its medieval cathedral and the historic market towns of Bromyard, Leominster and Ledbury.

With six waterside cabins on five pools of varying character, the fishing is for residents only ensuring that guests have exclusive fishing for specimen sized carp and a good head of silver fish with plenty of privacy. In addition to the fishing there is a wealth of local footpaths and walking trails for visitors to explore as well as the whole 650 acre estate.

Crabtrees 1 and 2

Crabtrees is a beautiful scenic lake set amongst the rural rolling Herefordshire countryside. It is maturing nicely with fish up to 20lb plus and offers a very peaceful and quiet atmosphere, complete with gorgeous water lilies and weeping willow trees. This site features two well-equipped cabins that can be rented either together or individually. The cabins are situated 70 yards apart, making them ideal for friends or families traveling together while maintaining their own space. Both cabins are connected to mains electric rather than solar.

The cabins are almost identical, each featuring a double bed, sofa, TV, and an electric fire. They are fully equipped with a kitchen featuring gas hobs, a microwave, oven, grill, and a fridge with a freezer box. Both include a private toilet and shower. While each cabin is ideal for two people, we can accommodate a third person or two small children by request. Outside, the decking extends from the cabin doors to the water’s edge. Plenty of garden furniture is provided, as well as charcoal barbecues (please bring your own charcoal).

We ensure your stay is comfortable by providing bedding, towels, toilet rolls, toiletries, and bin bags. The kitchens are stocked with all necessary cutlery, pots, and pans. There is an information pack provided with useful facts, rules, and also a map of the whole estate to help you explore.

Dogs

Up to 2 dogs are allowed free of charge. Please be conscious that you may be sharing the lake area with other guests and their dogs.

Fishing

Night fishing is allowed. There is a rowing boat on the lake free of charge with lifejackets included for safety.

Walking

There is a wealth of local footpaths and walking trails, and guests are welcome to walk across the whole 650-acre estate.

We welcome paddleboarders, canoeists, kayakers, and non-engine boaters, as well as model aircraft enthusiasts and practitioners of archery.
