The Tardis Pod made by TCR Abcell combines sturdy good looks with a long term income stream. Made from 70mm insulated sip panels with a waterproof membrane, the Tardis Pod comes equipped with Upvc reinforced double doors with trickle vents for ventilation, a low threshold entrance and quick release door restrictor hinges. Alternative claddings can be supplied if required.
The materials used ensure the Tardis Pod is cool in summer and warm in winter, providing an ambient temperature all year round. The pod comes delivered flat packed to your venue with everything needed for easy self-assembly or, for a small additional charge, Abcell can assemble and install it for you. There is a choice of easy base options including slabs on concrete with a pvc membrane, 150mm of concrete with pvc membrane or sleepers laid on a membrane on top of hardcore. Financial Benefits
Aside from the obvious benefit of making your fishery more comfortable all year round and increasing colder weather bookings, the numbers stack up well. Most venues are able to charge out their pods at £20-25 per 24 hours.
Assuming a 60 per cent occupancy, if each pod is charged at £20 per 24 hours, this gives an income of £4,380 per year. Within the first year, this pays for the pod and puts cash in your pocket. Crafted and made to last (there is a 40 year tile guarantee), each year there on is just putting cash in your pocket with projected income over 10 years being over 40K.
Naturally, popular venues with higher booking rates are going to get a better payback, but at lower occupancy rates, the sums easily stack for fishery owners. And remember, you’re creating a venue which anglers will want to come back to, even when there is frost on the ground!

Measuring 3660mm wide by 2400mm to the front projection, the standard Tardis Angling Pod can be tailored to suit your fishery’s individual needs. Prices start from just £3,499 with volume discounts available.
Optional extras can include a canopy above the doors, additional windows or window with opener, shower and toilet with partition and doorway. Should you require a larger pod the size can be increased in 1220mm sections whilst the interior can also be finished with plasterboard if desired.

The first of the new Tardis Angling Pods were installed at Staffordshire’s Hamstall Fishery and have been well received by anglers.
Carp angler Phillip Perry said: “The pod is very good. I stopped in it last weekend (a cold November) – you don’t need much heat as it gets warm in there, but spot on.”
Other anglers who we spoke to who have seen the pods but not yet stayed in them said they would be booking on their next visit.
It’s clear there are lots of benefits for anglers too. More time fishing, less time setting up, less gear to carry from the car, a better nights sleep, better weather protection – especially when windy and cold and finally they are more secure – the pods can be locked up and left securely with anglers’ gear inside.
