West Pitt Farm's self-catering holiday cottages can accommodate singles, couples and families and groups of up to nine. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
The cottages are highly rated by the English Tourist Council with The Farmhouse being awarded 5 stars, Lake View Cottage being awarded 4 stars and the others gaining 3 stars. They are exceptionally well-equipped. Full bed linen and towels are provided and each cottage has its own style and character.
All cottages have colour television and the kitchens are fully-equipped with microwave and electric cooker. There is a laundry room for use by guests.
The indoor heated swimming pool also offers a sauna. There is a large games room with table football, pool and table tennis. Outside, a children's play area with climbing frame, slide and swings; grass tennis court and BBQ facilities. There is a conveniently located room for storing fishing tackle with racks, a sink area and bait fridge.
There are pubs and restaurants in the local villages of Uplowman and Sampford Peverell as well as farm shops with excellent local produce. The nearest town of Tiverton, just six miles drive, has supermarkets, market days and a well stocked tackle and bait shop. Exeter and Taunton are only 30 minutes' drive away.
Local attractions include the Grand Western Canal, walking, golf, horse riding, racecourses, cinema and theatres.
With 60 acres to explore, West Pitt makes a delightful holiday to be enjoyed by both anglers and non-anglers alike.
The cottages offer the very best in comfort, style and character and are exceptionally well equipped and highly rated by Visit Britain - formerly the English Tourist Council.
In addition, there is a light and airy heated indoor swimming pool which is available to guests, as well as a coin-operated sauna. In the summer, the large plate glass patio windows of the swimming pool can be opened enabling guests to sit in the sun on the outdoor terrace which overlooks the lawns, grounds and fishing pools.
With the exception of The Farmhouse, where the cost of electricity is included in the tariff, all accommodation has £1.00 coin meters for electricity and is provided with well equipped kitchen incorporating electric cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, and colour TV. Full bed linen and duvets are supplied as are bath, hand and tea towels. The Farmhouse and Lake View Cottage both have a washing machine and drier and for the other cottages there is a convenient centrally located laundry room which has coin operated washing machine, tumble drier, iron and pay telephone. Heating is oil-fired and included in the tariff.

There is a local village pub with restaurant and nearby farm shop with excellent local supplies. There is also an abundance of other local pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes' drive.
Local attractions include the Grand Western Canal which offers 11 miles of level Country Park walk, a choice of golf, horseriding, indoor and outdoor bowls, racecourses, markets, a cinema, museum and theatres. The nearby town of Tiverton just five miles away has its own shopping centre, indoor and outdoor market three times a week and a well-stocked tackle and bait shop which also offers local knowledge and advice to anglers.
The Farmhouse
New for 2009 and offering four bedrooms, The Farmhouse sleeps seven to nine people in comfort and is West Pitt Farm's most prestigious accommodation having been 5-Star rated by Visit Britain - formerly the English Tourist Council.
The Farmhouse is an attractive Victorian house with a spacious farmhouse kitchen which is fully-equipped with a dishwasher and a washing machine/dryer. Also on the ground floor is a bedroom with double bed, a single bed and a bathroom with shower and its own WC. Upstairs are three further bedrooms - one double and two bedrooms each with two single beds. Also upstairs, where there are lovely views from the windows, is a family bathroom.
Outside, The Farmhouse has a private walled terrace with garden furniture outside the front of the house.
The Farmhouse and Lake View Cottage are adjoining with a connecting door and may be combined to accommodate groups of between 14 and 18 people.
Lake View Cottage
West Pitt's 16th Century Lake View Cottage offers many original features including cruck beams, oak panels and cobb walls. Visitors may step back in time while enjoying the benefits and comfort of the lovely furnishings and recently restyled kitchen.
Able to sleep up to nine people plus a cot, Lake View has three en-suite bedrooms - a double with en-suite shower; a twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom; and a family room with a double bed, a single and bunk beds and en-suite bathroom. This provides excellent and versatile accommodation to suit a couple, a family or a group of up to nine people. Each bedroom has its own character and has been tastefully decorated in keeping with the cottage's style.
The spacious and comfortably furnished living room has an Inglenook fireplace and original bread oven. Colour TV, video and music centre. In the oak panelled kitchen, which has been refitted to an excellent standard with a large range cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher, there is large farmhouse table for everyone to gather after a day's fishing or outing in the Devon countryside. The cottage has a washing machine and drier whilst outside the walled garden to the front of the cottage has a table and chairs.
As stated above, Lake View Cottage and The Farmhouse are adjoining with a connecting door and may be combined to accommodate groups of between 14 and 18 people.
The Stable Lodges
The cottages are on two levels and have been converted from attractive barns. The bedroom is on the ground level with the living area upstairs to take advantage of the fabulous view across the Valley.
Stable Lodge One has two single beds and whilst Stable Lodge Two has a double bed. Each has an en-suite bathroom with wc and shower. Upstairs there is a well equipped kitchen, dining and living area. Both cottages have a small double sofa bed in the living room.
Willow Tree
Willow Tree, available from July 2009, is a new eco lodge close to the Farmyard Pond. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on one level, the cottage is specifically designed to offer easy
accessibility for all.
Willow Tree has an open plan kitchen and dining area fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer whilst the spacious living room has glazed doors which lead to a large decking area with garden
furniture.
Willow sleeps up to six people, plus double sofabed and cot. The master bedroom has either a double bed or two singles, ensuite bathroom with level access shower whilst there is a further bedroom with two single beds and a bedroom with either a double bed or two single beds. The family bathroom has a bath and shower.
The Hayloft Studio
This delightfully converted open-plan studio cottage with spacious living, dining, kitchen and bedroom accommodation is ideal for couples or singles. It has a double bed, sitting and dining area and fully-equipped kitchen and en-suite bathroom with wc and shower over the bath. The Hayloft benefits from having its own terrace with table and chairs.
