Staged on Bluebell Pool, a total of 10 young anglers took part in the four hour contest fished between 10.00am and 2pm with top honours falling to Worcester's Daniel Hart who took 6lb 6oz of silver fish, 34lb 11oz of carp plus the biggest fish of the contest - a 12lb 5oz common carp - for a total weight of 53lb 6oz.
Second was Sam Newell, also from Worcester, with a silver weight of 6lb 14oz 8dr but no carp whilst third was Luke Holland with 2lbs of silvers and 6lb 11oz 6dr of carp for a total weight of 6lb 11oz 6dr followed by fourth placed Jake Sparks from Worcester 15oz of silvers and 5lb 10oz of carp for a total of 6lb 9oz.
Fished on a hot sunny day, the winner fished on the far bank by Bluebell Wood near the bull rushes on his left. Most of the catch was achieved using maggot.
Those who enjoyed the day will be pleased to hear that Leigh Sinton now plans to run fishing lessons and coaching throughout the forthcoming school holidays as well as organising another match for the Juniors following the success of the Browning Youth Masters Qualifier.
