Venues which offer camping and caravaning

Acclaimed as one of the top day ticket venues for barbel on the Warwickshire Avon, Anchor Meadow has its own camping/caravaning site with new ladies and gents toilets and showers as well as electric hook-ups for caravans. In addition to fishing for double figure barbel, Anchor Meadow also has a slower stretch of water where anglers can fish for big carp as well as decent sized tench and silver fish.

Offering five attractive lakes on the outskirts of Solihull in the West Midlands, Blythe Waters has an on-site cafe with toilet and shower and good facilities for disabled anglers. The fishing is for carp and silvers whilst Blythe also has facilities for five touring caravans for anglers who want to visit the fishery for short stays or angling breaks of up to a month at a time. The site is available for Caravan Club members only.

With three attractive lakes for the exclusive use of residents, Boyce Holiday Park and Cottages on the Worcestershire/Herefordshire border offers electric hook-up pitches for casual tourers and pitches for tents in 100 acres of stunningly beautiful countryside from March to October inclusive. On site a fully equipped facility block provides toilets, showers, hair dryers and shaving points together with a separate utility room where there is a washer, dryer and iron.

Probably the most south-easterly fishery of its size in the UK, Cottington Lakes has established itself as one of the region's leading day-ticket and camping/caravaning holiday venues with five lakes which offer a variety of angling to suit everyone from youngsters to specimen carp enthusiasts. A second match lake is currently under construction and will hold some 40 pegs and be about the size of a football pitch.

Ginger Hill Fishery near Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire has a Camping and Caravanning Club Certified Site and makes an ideal base for combining a family holiday in rural Wales with a spot of fishing. The pools offer angling for rainbow and brown trout as well as fishing for carp and silver fish. Eleven of the spacious and private caravan/tenting pitches have electric hook ups with a choice of hard standing or grass bases.

On the fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park and within easy striking distance of the South Wales beaches, Llandyfan Camping and Fishing Park at Ammanford has 10 hard standings for caravans with water and electric hook-ups and a large open space for caravans and tents. With a mixed pleasure fishing pool on the doorstep, Llandyfan has its own toilet, shower block and waste disposal point.

To be found in a countryside setting between Chester and Crewe in Cheshire, New Farm Fishery has three well maintained lakes which offer day ticket pleasure fishing for carp and silver fish; a large camping/caravan park with hard standing 'super-pitches'; a heated toilet/shower block which is also available for use by anglers; and modern clean and spacious Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a recently converted former milking parlour with five well-equipped bedrooms and light and airy dining room.

New Farm Fishery, Cheshire

Situated six miles north of Gloucester just 10 minutes from the M50 and 15 minutes from the M5 Stone End has a two acre caravan site on well maintained level grass only 60 yards from two attractive pools which offer mixed fishing for sarp and silvers. The site is open all year round and offers pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents. Electric hook-ups are available and there is a basic toilet and hand wash basin but no showers.

Sumners Ponds at Horsham in West Sussex is set in beautiful tranquil countryside. There are two camping areas, a main site and one by the lakeside which offer a total of 61 pitches, all with electric hook-up. Thirty four of these are hard standing pitches, 13 are grass and nine are premium angling pitches, each of which has it's own dedicated swim suitable for two anglers. In peak times it is often possible to accommodate tents in the overflow camping field.
